Craigslist

Our kitchen table was falling apart. The top had 2 cracks in it that seemed to be getting bigger and bigger. The chairs were literally falling apart. One day, Owen's therapist, sat down in one of the chairs and it literally broke right out from under her. She was quite humiliated, even though we tried to reasure her that it was going to happen to the next person that sat in it, regardless of who it was. She was still very embarassed. We only had four chairs left after that incident. There are five of us in the family. Each night at dinner (when Clarke is home) we'd have to wheel in the office chair. Clarke would have to sit on that chair throughout dinner.
We NEEDED a new table and chairs.

Enter Craigslist.

My sister-in-law found a table and chairs on craigslist that she thought would suit that family.
I looked at the photo, called the people, drove to Rancho Cordova in my Dad's truck with all three kids in the back, bought said table and chairs, loaded them in to the truck (thanks guy that sold them to me), drove home, and unloaded table and chairs. All without Clarke.
Let it be known that the table is Pottery Barn (still with $499.00 price tag on it) and the six chairs are a nice match, although not Pottery Barn (still with $169 each price tags on them). All this for.....
$200

Pretty good if you ask me. I am quite proud of my new purchase (Thanks, sister-in-law!). And they look pretty good too! Although I might paint the chair white. We'll see.
