This evening, my parents and I were able to watch Lilly perform two gymnastics routines for the Extreme Gymnastics Summer Show.
Lilly has very mixed feelings about gymnastics. On one hand, she loves going and loves learning new things. She is quite flexible and is getting very good at her handstands and cartwheels. However, on the other hand, she is EXTREMELY cautious about the equipment. To say she is terrified of the beam would be an understatement. She is mortified. We still haven't quite figured out what her hesitation is to it. Logically, she knows that if she falls off, she won't be hurt. She knows that it's okay to fall off, she won't be in trouble. Ususally, she opts to use the beam that isn't so high up during practices. That being said, she did absolutely fantastic tonight on her beam routine, the high beam even. We are so proud of her!
Because she did so fantastic, we ended the evening with a swim in Mema and Bepa's pool. What a way to tire out 3 wiggly, energetic kids.
