God Bless America

As I was going about my day-to-day activities this morning, I had the Presidential Inauguration on in the background. I paused numerous times to listen and take in what was happening.

I did not vote for Barak Obama, but after today I have a very different opinion about him. He is now our President and with that comes immense responsibility. He is the leader of our country and I respect and support him in his new role. We may not see eye-to-eye on many issues, but I have to trust he will make the best decisions for the benefit of our nation.

I was impressed at how many times God was mentioned in today's events. I caught myself closing my eyes and listening to each prayer that was said, and saying "amen" at the conclusion. I sincerely believe that God's hand was in the founding of this country. As long as we remember Him, our country will be blessed.

Today was a very historical event, in many respects, and I am grateful to have been able to watch. We live in a marvelous country with so many opportunities available to all of us. After watching President Obama's inauguration, I am even more proud to be an American.

God Bless America!

I agree, I did feel a sense of renewal and optimism yesterday and I couldn't help but be proud of our country.
Although that last prayer was super lame at the end. "red man can get ahead man" "brown can stick around"?
